It was Daniel, one of the Prophet or Man of God, who started with this spiritual fast of 21 days. During the fast, he abstained from wine, meats, refined foods, and dairy products.

List of Snacks to Consume

Trail Mix

Include nuts like almonds, cashews, walnuts, raisins, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, etc. in the trail mix. If you make the mix in large quantities, make sure you store it in an airtight container.

Tortillas Wraps

Use whole wheat tortillas to make a veggie wrap with baked beans.


Select from a wide variety of vegetables, lentils, and beans to prepare soups for your fast.

Vegetables with Dips
